In order to earn the Council-certified Microbial Consultant designation, candidates must participate in verifiable field experience as it pertains to microbial sampling, they must pass a rigorous written exam, earn unanimous approval of the board, recertify every other year, participate in 20 hours of professional development annually, and maintain the highest ethical standards.
